Richter, representing the then Soviet Union, was known all over the world as a true master and prodigy. The 19th century was a time full of truly great pianists, with their own distinct personalities. Since I am a pianist, I will contribute with another outstanding pianist: It covers an immense amount of recordings done by Gould, including - of course - the Goldberg variations (both the 1955 and the 1981 recording) and the Well Tempered Clavier, but also works by other composers than Bach (Strauss, Schumann, Mozart, Beethoven, Händel. This was an 80 CD (!) limited edition box set that came out in 2007, and which is no longer available from the manufacturer.
